With the connection of its first solar park for Slibverwerking Noord-Brabant (SNB) on industrial park Moerdijk, Bakker Sliedrecht proves it can play a more important role in the solar energy market in the coming years. Especially because of its expertise in connecting high-voltage installations.
To make the incineration of sludge entirely energy-neutral, SNB has a solar park of 8000 panels installed by sustainable energy specialist Zonnegilde. The Kampen based company is installing these PV parks from A to Z for its customers and has already installed 250,000 solar panels in the Netherlands. To connect the park both to SNB’s own high-voltage installation and to the electricity grid, Zonnegilde commissioned electrical installation company Bakker Sliedrecht. “SNB also supplies electricity to other companies on Moerdijk and wants to return the surplus power to the grid. We really had to come up with our own custom made solution for that,” says high voltage specialist Nico IJzerman of Bakker Sliedrecht.
Bakker is installing a 2000 kVA PV transformer station for the solar panels and inverters on the SNB Moerdijk site for Zonnegilde. In this case, the connection does not have to be connected to the local network operator's network, but to SNB Moerdijk's existing medium-voltage installation. In order to achieve this, Bakker is making a smart connection with a new medium-voltage installation, which means that the existing installation does not need to be converted. This saves a lot of time and money. In addition, Bakker is constructing various 10 kV cable connections between the medium-voltage installations. The solar park will be completed before the summer. After that, Bakker expects to be called in more often when it comes to complex connections. The construction of high-voltage infrastructure is one of the company's specialisms.
Bakker Sliedrecht has a lot of experience in the sustainable energy sector. The company has already connected several wind farms to the grid and has dozens of high-voltage installations that connect these parks to the grid under maintenance. The Moerdijk project was the first solar park the company connected.
